Store-bought puff pastry dough is a great basis for different snacks and appetizers that are super easy to make. 

Bright Side has compiled eight puff pastry snacks that your family and friends will definitely like. They are good for any party or quick breakfast, so please yourself with a piece of flavorful pastry!

Ham and cheese pastry

You will need:

1 pack of puff pastry dough 300g of ham 12 slices of hard cheese 1/2 cup of melted butter 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds 1 1/2 tablespoons of mustard 1 tablespoon of chopped onion 1/2 teaspoon of sweet and sour sauce

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Roll the dough and cut it into 12 triangular pieces. Place a slice of ham and cheese on each piece of dough.  Roll up each triangle. Combine the butter, poppy seeds, mustard, sweet and sour sauce, and onion in a small bowl.  Grease a baking sheet with oil. Place the rolls on it and pour on the sauce.  Bake for 25 minutes until the rolls turn brown.

Broccoli, ham, and cheese braid

You will need:

2 cups of broccoli florets 2 cups of chopped ham or bacon 1 cup of grated hard cheese 1/2 cup of mayonnaise 2 tufts of spring onion 800g of puff pastry dough

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Shred the broccoli in a blender. Add the chopped onion, cheese, and mayonnaise. Mix everything well.  Spread the filling over the sheet of dough and make a braid as shown in the picture.

Bake for 20 minutes until the braid is golden.

Meat and bell pepper pie

You will need:

2 tablespoons of butter 1 onion 1 bell pepper 500g of cooked beef or chicken (sliced into strips)   1 pack of puff pastry dough 12 slices of any hard cheese

For the sauce:

2 tablespoons of sour cream 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise 1 teaspoon of mustard 1/4 teaspoon of dried garlic 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper 

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Melt the butter in a skillet and fry the onion and bell pepper for 5 to 7 minutes until they get soft. Take it off the stove, and drain the extra water.  Cut the dough into 8 pieces. Put them in a mold (about 30cm in diameter) or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Add the layers of the filling in this order: cheese, meat, onion, pepper, cheese.  Wrap the edges of the dough pieces over the filling as shown in the picture.

Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the top turns a golden color. Let the pie cool down.  While the pie is cooling down, mix all of the ingredients for the sauce. Serve the pie with the sauce.

Cream cheese and spinach rolls

You will need:

1 pack of puff pastry dough 1 pack of cream cheese or ricotta 1/4 cup of grated hard cheese 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped spinach Parsley for garnishing

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Combine the cream cheese, hard cheese, and spinach in a small bowl.  Cut the dough into 8 triangles. Spread the filling over each piece of dough and roll them up, starting from the widest edge.  Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.

Chicken, carrot, and spring onion pie

You will need:

500g of finely chopped chicken (cooked)  1/2 cup of spicy tomato sauce 1/2 cup of grated carrot 1/4 cup of spring onion 150g of grated hard cheese 1 pack of puff pastry dough

Instructions:

Heat up the oven to 190°C. Combine the chicken with tomato sauce, then add the carrot, cheese, and chopped onion.  Divide the dough into 5 equal pieces. Place them on a baking sheet or in a mold (about 30cm in diameter) as shown in the picture. Use a glass to give your pie an even round form.

Spread the filling onto the pastry.

Remove the glass and wrap the edges of the dough to the center.

Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the pie is golden. Then let it cool down and serve.

Hot dogs served on skewers

You will need:

1 pack of puff pastry dough 4 sausages 100g of hard cheese 1 egg yolk Long wooden skewers for serving

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Cut the dough into 8 equal triangles. Divide the sausages into halves, and put each half on a skewer. Cut the cheese into 8 equal slices.  Place half of a sausage and a cheese slice onto the widest edge of each triangle. Roll them up.  Place the hot dogs on a baking mold and grease them with the whipped egg yolk. Bake for 15 minutes.

Pastry cups with mashed potato and cheese

You will need:

1 pack of puff pastry dough 2 cups of mashed potato 1 1/2 cups of grated hard cheese 4 slices of bacon 3 tablespoons of chopped spring onion 1/4 cup of sour cream or natural yogurt

For the sauce: 

1 tablespoon of sour cream or natural yogurt 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise 1/8 teaspoon of dried garlic 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper A dash of salt

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Mix together all the ingredients for the sauce.  Combine the mashed potato, cheese, sliced bacon, sauce, and spring onion in a bowl. Divide the dough into 8 square pieces.  Place each piece in a cake mold, and add 1 tablespoon of the filling.  Bake the cups for 15 to 17 minutes. You can also top them with spring onion and natural yogurt.
